Welcome to my personal IPv6 enabled site, created in only one evening and tasked to promote IPv6 adoption around the world. I hope to be adding more (original) content within a week.
Honorable mention goes to my hosting provider YourWebhoster.eu for being one of the progressive hosting providers that supplies VPS's with IPv6 connectivity.
IPv6 is the next generation/version of the Internet Protocol, the logic that drives the internet. There's many explanations on the web with different approaches, I've provided a couple of links to such explanations in the navigation menu on the right hand side of this site. I will give you the most condensed version of the explanations I can below.
IPv6 is the successor of the currently primary version IPv4. The limitations in address space combined with the rapid growth/demand for internet connectivity 'force' us to move to version 6 because it has 'near endless address space'. Let's just say that IPv6 provides so much addressing space that even the greatest mathematicians think it'll last for many generations if not 'forever'. Added benefit of version 6 is that it is an improved version obviously, so it comes with new features and possibilities.
World IPv6 Day, 8th of June 2011, is the day a great number of large companies aim to supply IPv6 connectivity to their web services. It's purpose is to test IPv6 web-sites/sevices and raise awareness about IPv6(it's importance to implement most of all), as well as hopefully retaining the boost in IPv6 enabled web services.
I'm an 30 year old IT professional, currently working under contract as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. I have certifications from Microsoft as well as Cisco and got a college education in computer hardware and application development. I've worked in IT since 1998 and have since managed to gather some experience.
At the moment I'm working on another Cisco certification and plan to update my Microsoft certification after that as well as hoping to find some time in between to get a generic Linux certification (LPIC). My employer luckily promotes and enables extensive training to maintain an up to date and vast base of knowledge.
Well I made it in the span of one evening after work and in between the usual household chores, as you can tell from the above description of myself I tend to keep busy in my own time and I work full time as well (on average more then the usual 40 hours a week). On top of that, of course, there are social obligations as well.
For those interested I put this site together from scratch in Notepad++ without any WYSIWYG tools.
So in short, I was too busy to work on the looks for now.
